ROSENDO DOMINGO. GUATEMALA. HUEHUETENANGO | CARAMELIZED WHITE CHOCOLATE, HAZELNUT, & HIBISCUS.
HE'S BACK! The one, the only, ROSENDO DOMINGO. This is our 5th season in a row working with his coffee. We're grateful. Rosendo Domingo produces amazing coffee. Dare we say idiosyncratic coffee? (we do) Make of this what you will, but the 1st time we tried his coffee, we were like, “hey, this doesn’t taste like any coffee we’ve ever had from Guatemala.” Year after year, we’ve noticed a common theme: it tastes like coffee produced by Rosendo Domingo. How? Maybe it's geography? Perhaps it's worth noting that this plot (called La Cumbre) on his farm (Buena Vista) sits between 1700-1850 meters above sea level. Or maybe it's the Caturra & Pache varieties he's growing? Or that he & his employees are working their proverbial tails off (& they really are)? Or how he’s fermenting the coffee for ~40 hours? Heck, we did tell you that. It’s meaningful & it explains a lot of it. But what we can’t put into words is the feeling: his coffee has this 3D, clean fruit, sugary sweet vibe- & even that isn't doing it justice. So, we think you’re just gonna need to get a pot brewin’ & try this one yerself...
