LA COLINA. GUATEMALA. CHIMALTENANGO | CANDY CORN, REDCURRANT, & PRALINE PASTRY.
Fresh crop Guatemalan coffee is back on the menu! Our 1st offering of the new harvest is a sweet one from the heart of Guatemala, in a town named San Martin Jilotepeque. The farmer & farm in question? Tony Medina & his beautiful farm, La Colina, which means “the hill” & is named after the hill it sits on ...1700 meters above sea level. Tony inherited this plot of land from his father. In the early days, Tony was mostly growing corn & beans but had big dreams of growing his own coffee one day, too. His interest in coffee began in childhood, while working on coffee farms in the area. Tony planted his first coffee tree in 1991. In the time since, let’s just say he’s planted quite a few more. La Colina primarily features Caturra & Bourbon varieties of coffee. When his coffee reaches peak ripeness, it is milled, fermented, washed, and then dried on patios until shelf stable. We've been working with Tony since 2021. We're incredibly honored to have the opportunity to share his wonderfully sweet coffee with you & yours for the 3rd year in a row!!! Enjoy & cheers, buds!
